Students are eligible for this scholarship opportunity if they:
- If their application essays demonstrate creative vision, internal motivation, strong self-direction and independent thought, curiosity to conduct independent research, and ability to carry through on goals that could potentially make a significant impact in the world. In addition students will answer one additional essay question. Applicants can choose one from the following three questions:
1. Please write an essay on your creative vision and internal motivation. In the essay, list courses that you have taken and explain how these courses directly support your educational goals to make a significant difference in the world.
2. Ten years from now a national magazine publishes a feature article about you. Write that article here. In the article explain how your education at PCC (include specific courses taken) contributed to reaching your goal that led to making a significant impact in the world.
3. Please include a work sample that demonstrates your creative vision and ability to make a significant difference. Explain how the work contributes to society. Include PCC courses you are taking, or have taken, and explain how they directly support attaining your goal. - Also, the student should provide a letter of recommendation that supports their academic rigor. A letter from a recent instructor is preferred. This can be from a PCC instructor, or high school teacher or counselor if recently graduated or attained a high school diploma.
Applicants can choose to apply for this scholarship if they meet the eligibility criteria listed above and answer additional questions and/or submit additional materials as required by this scholarship.
